This infographic (shown at the bottom of the page) is taken from an American website and it makes some really interesting points. The headline point details that 46% of small businesses in America still don’t have a website, with 22% of businesses saying they have no intentions of building one.
46% of small businesses still don’t have a website
An article posted by smallbusiness.co.uk from 2015 seems to back this figure up stating that 60% of small businesses with 5 employees or less aren’t moving into the digital age. The main reason for not having a website was due to an estimated ‘lack of growth in their business’. To counter this the report states that 60% of small businesses who had a web presence expected their revenues to grow in the coming years.

Here are our thoughts on the main excuses detailed in the infographic, and the importance of good web design:
I don't need one
87.9% of adults in the UK (45.9 million) had recently (in the last 3 months) used the internet, compared with 86.2% in 2015. That’s a lot of potential customers you’re missing out on.
My industry isn't online

I don't have the money
with a basic web site designed for as little as £20 per month we can get you online quickly and in a cost effective manner. If your budget doesn’t stretch to this, give us a call and we can advise you of some the cheaper options to getting your business online.
I have enough customers
I’ll just give you an example of a customer we recently designed a site for, their business was being searched for 2,000 times a month on google and they had no web or social media presence. Can you afford to lose 2,000 potential customers per month?
I use social media instead
Well done, it’s great that you’re taking part and engaging with your customers on Twitter or Facebook. You could be using these likes and followers to drive even more sales leads by having an online presence. With an effective web design you could be converting these leads into new customers.
I don't have time to maintain it
Incorporating a Content Management System (CMS) into your web design makes updating content so much easier. You can even update your website using your smart phone whilst you’re on the go. Why not take all the hassle out of updating your site and let us do it for you?
